State Pension

The regular government payment you can claim on reaching State Pension age, based on your National Insurance record. You generally need 35 qualifying years for the full new State Pension and at least 10 to get anything. Years spent raising children can count through National Insurance credits, but only if Child Benefit was claimed. The full rate is uprated each April.
