Maternity Allowance

Maternity pay from the DWP rather than an employer, for self-employed women and anyone who does not qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay. Currently up to £194.32 a week for 39 weeks. Self-employed claimants need 13 weeks of Class 2 National Insurance in the qualifying period to get the full rate, or they drop to £27 a week.
