Grant of Probate
The court document confirming that the executor named in a will has legal authority to deal with the estate: closing accounts, selling or transferring property and paying the beneficiaries. In England and Wales you apply online or by post. The fee is £526 if the estate is worth more than £5,000, and nothing if it is worth less.
