Bereavement Support Payment

A benefit for someone whose spouse, civil partner or qualifying cohabiting partner has died, paying a lump sum plus monthly payments for 18 months. You must have been under State Pension age at the date of death. Claim within three months for the full amount: monthly payments are backdated only three months, and the lump sum is lost entirely after twelve.
